Cricket Pancake Mix
Cricket pancakes are made with 100% pure cricket flour, mixed with a flour blend for a full meal of natural nutrition and animal protein. Why settle for boring standard pancakes when you can have a real meal? Forget empty calories and too much sugar; our cricket flour pancakes fill you up faster and contain more of the nutrients you need. Q: Do these taste like crickets?
A: Because we only use about 25% cricket flour and mix it with the more flavorful spelt and oat flour, the taste evens out to a nutty, earthy, savory flavor. We promise, no one would know they were eating crickets unless you told them.
Q: How much protein is in a single pancake?
A: One pancake has roughly 4 grams of protein. About 2.5 grams of that comes from the cricket flour, which is a complete animal protein source (something unheard of in pancakes!)
Q: Is this product safe to eat?
A: Our ingredients and facility have been inspected and approved. Cricket flour and any other sort of insect based food is safe to eat. Note, however, that people with a shellfish allergy may experience reactions to crickets.
Q: What does it mean by “complete animal protein”?
A: Protein from animal sources (meat, milk, eggs) is unique in that it contains all nine of the amino acids that humans and animals need to function. Other protein sources contain some but not all of the amino acids.
Cricket Pancake Mix directions: Mix 1 cup mix with 3/4 cup water (add more for thinner pancakes and less for thicker pancakes). Let stand for 2-3 minutes for the water to absorb. Cook on greased pan or griddle on medium-high heat until golden brown on both sides. One cup mix makes about seven 6″ pancakes.
