1/4 LB Cricket Flour
100% Pure Cricket Flour!
Why would you want a flour made from crickets? Great question! Cricket flour is an easy way to add the power of insect animal protein to any formerly normal meal. It can be added to any wheat product at between a 1:3 to 1:4 ratio, or mixed with any sort of smoothie or similar product to add complete insect animal protein without having to think about eating crickets. Cricket flour enables even the most faint of heart to benefit from being an insect eater. To learn more about why eating insects is such a great idea, visit our “Why Eat Insects” page.
Q: Is the protein better then other kinds?
A: Insect animal protein is unique. It has a complete amino acid profile (nutrients our body cannot manufacture itself) as well as containing healthy fats and being high in vitamins and minerals like iron, B12, and calcium.
Q: Can I taste it when I bake with it?
A: Because you only use a partial ratio of cricket flour, it does lend a taste to the final product (depending on what you’re making) but it doesn’t overpower it. Most people describe it as an earthy sort of taste.
Q: Can I use it in gluten free baking?
A: Yes! Cricket flour is naturally gluten free and can be mixed with whatever gluten free recipe you are following.
